What a wholesome moment at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam

Dutch players and fans alike cheered as Denmark's Christian Eriksen scored just two minutes into his first appearance for the national team since that dramatic day when his heart stopped.

The friendly between Netherlands and Denmark had already seen four goals go in, but none of that made much difference because Eriksen was the star of the night.

The Brentford midfielder came on from the substitutes' bench at the start of the second half and needed less than two minutes to finish of a nice team move with a precise shot high into the far corner to reduce the Dutch lead to 3-2.

The entire stadium applauded him, not just for his goal but for the astonishing journey he's been on since that moment when he hit the ground during the match against Finland in the European Championship last year.

Applause rang from each side of the Amsterdam stadium as the players and fans alike celebrated the greatest gift of all - life.
