Some will call it interesting, but it's madness
A decade ago, two clubs from the German region of Ruhr were in the very top in their country and even in Europe. The working-class part of Germany is well-known for their love of football and their clubs. Today, Borussia Dortmund is doing very well, but their long-hated rivals, Schalke 04, are struggling in the second tier. Still, it hasn't changed their rivalry. If anything, the rift is wider than before - which a strange piece of news suggests.
A devoted and most probably deranged Schalke fan caused damage amounting to over $7,000 in the central German district of Gotha. According to the police, the man removed cable bridges from a construction site because they were black and yellow. Apparently, the cable bridges in the colours of the rival club bothered him too much to stay cool.
The police reported that driving over the exposed cables caused considerable damage. An investigation has been initiated against the man. Due to privacy rights, the police did not disclose where the black and yellow colours bothered him.
