When you’re so strong to crush former champion with rotated squad

Vincent Kompany decided to shake things up a bit, given Bayern’s upcoming Champions League clash with PSG — yet despite that, the Munich side were convincing against Bayer Leverkusen, winning 3–0

Without Kane, Olise, Diaz, Upamecano, Stanisic, Pavlovic?

Doesn’t matter.

Bayern cruised to another dominant win, defeating Leverkusen 3–0 in the Bundesliga’s headline clash.

While the champions extend their incredible run — now 15 victories in 15 competitive games — Leverkusen’s unbeaten streak finally comes to an end. After an astonishing 37 Bundesliga away matches without defeat, the Werkself fell for the first time since their 0–3 loss at Bochum on May 27, 2023.

Resting key players like Kane, Olise, Diaz, Upamecano, Stanisic, and Pavlovic in a top-five clash might seem bold, but it reflects the confidence running through Munich. Even on matchday nine, Bayern are sending a clear message: the league trophy looks destined for Allianz Arena — though the real test awaits in the Champions League, away against reigning champions PSG. That’s where Bayern aim to field their strongest side.

Still, the “backup” lineup didn’t skip a beat. Talented youngsters like Lennart Karl, Tom Bischof, Raphael Guerreiro, Minjae Kim, and Nicolas Jackson stepped up impressively. Bischof’s exquisite pass set up Gnabry’s opener (the goal is HERE), Jackson nodded home the second (the goal is HERE), and Guerreiro’s precise cross led to Balde’s own goal (the goal is HERE) — making it 3–0 by halftime and effectively sealing the match.

Even without their stars, Bayern displayed no cracks, preserving their lead atop the table over Leipzig (+5) and Dortmund (+7). Meanwhile, Heidenheim slid to the bottom after a 1–1 draw with Frankfurt, as Gladbach cruised to a 4–0 win at St. Pauli.

Bayern prove once again: even the second string can dominate.
