The national women’s team has been in camp for the past couple of weeks, beginning with a provisional squad made up of locally based players, before being reinforced by foreign-based stars.

The focus now turns to Europe, where the technical bench will sharpen tactics and build cohesion ahead of the continental showpiece.

Before heading to France, the Starlets will travel to Abidjan on Saturday,28 February 2026, for two crucial international friendlies.

Kenya will face Benin on 2 March and Ivory Coast on 4 March at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara d’Ebimpé.

Ivory Coast, ranked 72nd in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings, and Benin, placed 139th, will provide competitive tests for Kenya, who are currently ranked 133rd.

The matches will offer the technical bench a valuable platform to assess match fitness and fine-tune tactical systems before the team proceeds to Europe.

After the Abidjan fixtures, the squad will relocate to Miramas, France, for a residential training camp running until 15 March.

The France camp is expected to play a pivotal role in solidifying team chemistry, polishing tactical structures, and elevating physical conditioning levels before the team heads to Morocco for the tournament.

The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will run from 17 March to 3 April this year.

Kenya will open their Group A campaign against hosts Morocco on 17 March, before facing Senegal on 20 March.

The team will conclude the group stage against Algeria on 23 March.
