A top Kenya Police FC official confirmed the signing, saying Muyoti is expected to officially report to work on Monday next week.
“We officially signed him on Wednesday and have given him time off to cool down after his troubled departure from Nairobi United,” said the official who requested anonymity.
The official claimed that Muyoti felt unappreciated by his former club, an experience he says almost traumatised the former international.
“The best thing for him was to leave and he has indicated he wants to learn under our head coach,” added the source.
Muyoti will deputise Dusan Stojanovic and leaves Nairobi United with great memories.
Not only did he help the club earn promotion to the top tier, but also won the 2025 Mozzart Bet Cup.
Their Cup win earned the team the right to feature in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they made history by qualifying for the tournament’s group stage.
Contacted Nairobi United Director of Operations Osman Khalif said he was not aware of Muyoti’s departure, even as he maintained that the club had done everything to ensure he performs well.
“We signed all the players he had asked us to sign and even followed through on his suggestions regarding beefing up the technical bench.
“He had initially indicated that there could have been some people who were trying to sabotage him but we have dealt with the matter ,” said Khalif.
Muyoti promised to call back when contacted but had done so by the time of writing.
On Wednesday, Muyoti was conspicuously missing from the technical bench when his club lost 2-0 to AFC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium.
He accompanied the team from the changing room to the pitch but did not stay on the bench.
Initially, he had missed a number of training sessions raising concern about his whereabouts.
