The break was worth it as Kenya booked a place in the Morocco edition, and will return to the continental tourney after a 10-year absence.
In the local scene, a total of four league matches are lined up for today, Saturday 1 November across different venues in the country, as third round matches take center stage.
With only two matches played so far, Kenyan giants Vihiga Queens are at the summit of the league table with six points, same as Trinity Starlets and defending champions Kenya Police Bullets.
At the other end of the table are three clubs that are yet to earn a single point this season. They are Western Kenya trio of KISPED Queens, Bungoma Queens and Gideon Starlets.

Kenya Police Bullets vs Gideon Starlets
High flying Kenya Police Bullets will continue with their title defense with a match against WPL newbies Gideon Starlets that will be held at the Police Sacco Stadium from 1300 hrs.
The law enforcers started the season brightly with two wins over Kayole Starlets and Zetech Sparks, even as they started life with coach David Vijago, who took over at the start of the season, replacing Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba.

For Gideon Starlets, they have found life in the top tier hard to adapt to, and have lost all their two matches so far. The Homa Bay-based side will be hoping that the work they put in during the international break will bear fruits for them when they face the reigning league champions
A win for Police would cement their lead at the top of the table, while for Gideon Starlets, it would kickstart what would be a new life in the top tier.
Zetech Sparks vs Ulinzi Starlets
At the Zetech University, Mang’u Campus, Zetech Sparks will welcome Ulinzi Starlets from 1300 hrs.
The Varsity side have had a mixed start to the season, winning one and losing one of their two matches and will be keen to make record their second victor of the season with the backing of the home crowd.
However, Zetech will be up against an Ulinzi inside who have vowed to reclaim the WPL title having finished second last season, after a poor first half.
Coach Charles Ochieng stated that starting well will be key to his side snatching the league title from their Police counterparts.
Kibera Soccer Women vs Trinity Starlets
Reigning FKF Women's Cup champions Kibera Soccer Women welcome joint league leaders Trinity Starlets in yet another match that promises fireworks.
The match will be staged at the Marist International University, Karen from 1400 hrs and provides an opportunity to Kibera to record their first win of the season.
The Kibera-based club has had a poor start to the season, losing one and settling for a draw in their first two league matches even as they try to adapt to the departure of coach Vijago.
Newly appointed coach George Okello will be hoping that he now has a winning formula that will down Naivasha-based Trinity Starlets who themselves have had a good start of the season, winning all their first two league matches.
Kayole Starlets vs Kisumu All Starlets
In the other WPL match of the day, newbies Kayole Starlets will play host to lakeside outfit Kisumu All Starlets in a match that will be held at the Kasarani Annex from 1300 hrs.
After losing narrowly to Kenya Police in their season opener, coach Mary Adhiambo was able to guide her side to victory, a 3-2 comeback win over Gideon Starlets, and will be out to extend the winning form as they face a limping Kisumu All Starlets.
Kisumu All Starlets are yet to record a win this season, and will be hoping that they take the journey back to the lakeside city with all the three points.
