Sociedad couldn't deal with the awesome Villareal striker Gerard Moreno

Villareal came on top in their away La Liga game against Real Sociedad. Gerard Moreno was the star performer as the Yellow Submarine came from behind to secure a 3-1 win.

Aleksander Isak opened the scoring at Reale Arena in San Sebastian but the blue and whites couldn't hold onto the lead and allowed Moreno to head into the net from a corner.

The second half couldn't have started any worse for Real Sociedad, who were reduced to 10 men after Mikel Oyarzabal’s mindless sliding tackle earned him a straight red card. Without their captain, Sociedad were facing a difficult task against Unai Emery's side. With the numeric advantage, Villarreal took control of proceedings - maintaining possession and pushing for the winner. Eventually, the Yellow Submarine were rewarded for their efforts, with Moreno once again heading home from the corner in the 69th minute.

Sociedad had a golden chance to snatch a point late on through Sorloth but were instead punished after Moreno broke away and squared neatly for substitute Samuel Chukwueze to slam into the net and complete a 3-1 win for the visitors.
