Prolific striker reveals some very interesting stuff regarding his career and personal life
One of the best African players in the English Premier League is highly popular with fans worldwide. So the chance to talk to him is something they gladly enjoy, regardless of the club he's currently playing for or at which platform they interact with him.
Wilfried Zaha offered them a chance to chat via Q&А, and you'll probably like some of the answers coming from the Ivorian player.
Best advice you were ever given?
"Keep working, your time will come."
What's the biggest lesson football has taught you so far?
"No one cares till you win! There's no pity party for the losers, so pick yourself up as many times as you have to and keep going!"
Any pre-match superstitions?
"No superstitious stuff for me. I just make sure I pray to God before I play every game and thank Him for taking me this far."
Any advice for my daughter, who's a big fan and 10, trying to make it in an academy? Main things to focus on?
"Just to take it easy. Don't put too much pressure on yourself but always believe deeply in yourself and your talent."
Are you happy? You always seem frustrated on the pitch.
"I'm very happy with life and my football, but I'm happier when I win, and that's all I want to do… I may not win as much as I would like to which frustrates me at times because of how passionate I am about the game."
Which player do you wish you'd played with, can be current or past?
"Ronaldinho, because he made me fall in love with the game by just making it so enjoyable to watch. He played with flair and happiness."
Do you play any other sport besides football? And what's your favourite thing to do when you're on holiday or when you're not playing football?
"I like table tennis. My favourite thing to do is play call of duty, family days out, and the occasional dinner catch-up with my mates."
Which goal is your best or most important?
"My favourite is my diving header against Brighton away in the play-off semi-finals."
