The hearing impared side is taking part in the league for the first time.
After seven matches on their debut in the Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) men's league, Young City's head coach Fredrick Omole says there is tremendous improvement, results notwithstanding.
The side is yet to win a single match and are bottom of the league but the tactician believes they are better than they were when the league started.
"We have played some of the best teams in the league. These teams come with alot of experience and there is a visible difference in the way we are handling different situations on the pitch. We were missing some players at the beginning of the league but they are now available and the team is getting stronger and better with each match," said Omole.
Last weekend, the side that is also coached by Nairobi Water Queens and the national women’s team head coach Jack Ochieng player Rangers HC on Sunday losing 34-22. On Saturday, they had gone down 32-25 to school boys Makueni Bees.
In their season-opening match, Omole's charges played another new side Nairobi County Council (NCC) losing 26-19. They faced tough opposition in the succeeding matches Black Mamba (40-14), Strathmore (45-15), Thika (43-10), General Service Unit (41-20) before last weekend's matches.

On Sunday 10 July, Omole will guide his charges against Kisii-based Boomarang as the side chases their first victory of the league. Boomarang will be playing their first match of the season.
"From the seven matches played, our players have been able to employ different tactics in each match. It is a rapid learning process for them. Against the better known teams, we can tell that the players are not giving their all, they are jittery but that is changing. Last weekend, for instance they were more relaxed and the performance was better," Omole, who led a majority of the players who form part of Young City in the national team at the Deaflympics added.
Meawhile three teams, Kenyatta University, University of Eldoret and Boomarang, who are scheduled to play on the weekend, are yet to open their season.
The varsity sides are not in session until September at which point the backlog of matches could potentially be over ten matches.
