Focus shifts to the KVF National elections set to be held on 19 August with 13 National Executive Committee expecting to be elected.
Kenya Volleyball Federation’s (KVF) search for new office holders, after weeks of battling on the corridors of justice with case after case, seems to be taking off with the county elections having been held in the last week or so.
This weekend it was the turn of the biggest shareholders of the game, the players, to choose their representatives to the new office.
Three players from each of the 21 top tier teams cast their vote.

"The honor is immense, and the responsibility is clear. I am excited to be the voice of fellow female athletes, and I'm dedicated to ushering in positive changes with transparency and equality." - Brackcides Agala pic.twitter.com/59XX4dxeu9
With this exercise done, focus shifts to the KVF National elections set to be held on 19 August with 13 National Executive Committee expecting to be elected.
Former Malkia Strikers skipper and beach volleyball Olympian Bracksides Agala was elected unopposed while the men’s rep battle went down to three contestants, with Ibrahim Owuor emerging victorious.
The former Prisons Kenya skipper turned assistant coach, Oduor, garnered 29 votes, 12 more than Daniel Kiptoo while David ‘Tonje’ Kirwa was third on 11 votes.
“The win is for the players. I want to thank voters for the trust they have bestowed on me. I had worthy competitors and going forward is to work with parties involved for the betterment of sports and the players at large," Odour told Daily Nation.
Agala said she is a player and understands where the shoe pinches the most.
"I have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by female athletes and therefore I will be advocating for the rights and welfare of the athletes and more so the mental aspect," said Agala.
Kenya National Sports Council administrative secretary James Akama oversaw the elections that brought together 21 teams that compete in the men and women's National League.
The national election will see acting president Charles Nyaberi taking on David Kilundo as they look to inherit the seat held by the late Waithaka Kioni before his untimely demise earlier in April.
