The girls duo of Ahoya and Kawira sailed through to the singles' second round
Five Kenyan tennis youngsters will be in action on Saturday 18 March as the Confederation of Africa Tennis 14 and Under Africa Junior Championships enter day three of proceedings.
Kicking Kenya’s team out on the hard court action in Togo will be Jeff Hesbon - contesting for a placement match against Miki Igiraneza of Burundi.
This comes after the Kenyan lost his first round matchup against Tunisia’s Nsairi Skander 6-0,6-0 in Friday’s tie.
His male compatriot Ayush Bhandari will also be contesting in a placement match after he also suffered a similar fate on Friday - losing in both sets 6-0, 6-2 to Edward Jonathan of Egypt. The East African medalist will instead battle David Edwards of Nigeria on Saturday.
Michelle Murage, the only lady to get tossed in the first round, will play against homegirl Tossoukpe Bernice after losing in straight sets of 6-0,6-1 to Egyptian Habiba Habib.
Seline Ahoya wins the 2nd rubber 6/3 6/3.

On a positive note however, two of Kenya’s top girls and gold medalists in the recently concluded East Africa Junior Championships in Burundi secured wins in their first round matches and will be in the last 16 action on Saturday - both in the singles and doubles campaign.
Seline Ahoya - straight from her 6-0, 6-1 obliteration of Nigeria’s Osaji Karen - will now take on Morocco’s Wassila Achouri, with the hope that she will gain leeway into the last eight of the girls competition.
Her doubles mate Nancy Kawira outduelled Eduafo Collins Cristabel (Ghana) 6-1,6-3 in the first round games on Thursday and is expected to match up against Bezza Lina of Morocco in the last 16 games.
As for the doubles, the duo will face Tunisian opposition - Nadine Hamrouni and Rined Saafi in the quarter finals or second round of the competition. This comes after both Kenyans won in straight sets - 6-2, 6-2 - against Khadjiat Mohamed (Nigeria) and Claire Nalubuulwa (Uganda).
