Handball: Battle lines drawn as KHF Super Cup takes center stage

Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) has released dates and fixtures for this year’s Kenya Cup, marking the start of the 2025/26 season.

Action throws off on Saturday 26 July and will be played across two weekends, concluding on Sunday, 3 August.
The women’s competition will be played in a round robin format while the men are pooled in two groups, with the top two proceeding to the semis.
The Cup, a precursor of the league each season, features the top six men’s teams and the top four for women.
This year’s competition will see league champions National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) look to reclaim the title they lost to Equity Bank in the last edition, while Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) Ulinzi Sharks chase back-to-back Cup wins following their maiden title last year.
The Bankers, on their part, having missed out on a maiden league title by two points, are eager to begin their season on a high, retaining the title they won at Ulinzi Complex.
Equity put their league disappointment behind them to win the 2025 Genocide Memorial Cup in Kigali, on their first time of asking, and will be keen to build on such a strong show across the borders to stamp authority at home.
In the women’s league, NCPB, who placed fifth in the just-concluded league, will have a chance to vie for a long overdue silverware, having been included to replace the unavailable Firehawks, who finished third.
