"I don't wake up every day wanting to be better," says the Australian player Nick Kyrgios
Nick Kyrgios says that he does not like tennis as the three greatest in history do - Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. And he adds that there are some other things he focuses on.
Nick has excellent skills and talent, but he often knew how to arouse the anger of certain tennis fans with his statements.
This year, he retired from tennis during the coronavirus virus pandemic, having played only two tournaments in the last 15 months. He played well at Wimbledon but had to retire after a hip injury.
"I definitely don't like tennis as these legends do," Kyrgios said.
The Australian points out that tennis is not his first love.
"I feel like the three of them couldn't live without tennis. It's like it's their first love. For me, my first love was basketball, but I wasn't able to fulfil that dream. I definitely don't wake up every day wanting to be better. And to see how to progress. It's not easy for me, "he said.
Although he used to say all sorts of things about Novak Djokovic, Kyrgios classified Novak as a tennis legend and paid tribute to all their achievements this week.
He added that he has plans not related to tennis and that his focus is different from the big three.
"I'm not saying that Djokovic, Nadal and Federer are wrong when they get into all that so much. As I said, I give them credit for everything," Kyrgios said.
