Koranga makes Transfer of the Year semifinal list

The Shimba Hills secondary school alumni moved from Tyler Junior College in the NJCAA league to Troy University in the NCAA in April 2020
National Women’s basketball team, Kenya Lionesses, forward Felmas Koranga has made the list of 20 semifinalists who will fight it out for the World Exposure Report Junior College Transfer of the Year.
Koranga, has had massive impact at Troy women’s basketball team as she guided the Trojans to finish as the East Division Champions but the league runner-up in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) division one league.

Her transfer from Tyler Junior College, in the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) league, where she had a stellar performance to Troy has earned her a mention in the transfer of the year list.
At Tyler, she was named the 2020 Women Basketball College Association (WBCA) Player of the Year, before leaving the club in April 2020 after two seasons. In addition to her player of the year accolade, she was the nation’s number two junior college recruit according to World Exposure Report composite ranking. She was also named in the World Exposure and NJCAA first teams All-American.
She amassed over one thousand points and 750 rebounds in her two-year career at Tyler. The youngster finished sixth in the nation for blocks (92), 16th for total points at 590 and fifth in rebounding at 407. She tallied 26 double-doubles in 31 starts, averaging 19.0 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.
With Troy, Koranga has continued her stellar performance drawing praise from her coach Chanda Rigby. In their final regular-season match against Coastal Carolina, Koranga had a career game for the Trojans posting a career-high 19 rebounds and 18 points.
The World Exposure Report Junior College Transfer of the Year will be narrowed to ten candidates on March 15th before the winner is announced on April 9 as a part of the other "World Exposure Report" awards.

From the votes cast so far for the released list of semifinalists, Koranga has garnered over 50 percent of the votes.
