Action continues on Sunday at various venues in the country.

Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's league title holders Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) are back at the helm of the league table after a 72-61 victory over Kenyatta University (K.U) Pirates.

Fresh from gaming part in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers, the dockers made use of their home advantage in Mombasa to take an early lead that helped them contain the hard-fighting Pirates.

The first quarter ended 22-10 with the second at 21-10 to give the Sammy Kiki coached men a 23-point advantage. In the second half, Pirates won the two quarters 19-17 and 22-12 but it was not enough to hand them victory in the road.

In the women's league, revamped Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Panthers suffered their sixth loss of the first leg, going down 70-68 to hosts Kisumu Lady Bucks.

The closely contested match jade to be decided in overtime as Bucks dominated the first half 11-07, 14-07 before the visitors bringing their A game in the second half to score 19-14 and 20-14 to level the score in regular time. In overtime, the hosts score 19 against 17 for their second victory of the season.

Holders KPA had an easy match, beating visiting K.U Oryx 93-20 to maintain their unbeaten run and a firm grip on the league's leadership as the season heads to the second leg.

In another match played at Nyayo Indoor Arena, former champions Equity Hawks managed a 50-32 (15-08, 12-09, 10-12, 13-3) beating of varsity side Dynamites.
