"Mentally and physically, I’m ready. I’m fearless and always prepared to step up to any challenge."
After missing an entire season recovering from an Achilles injury, Ulinzi Warriors' shooting guard Erick Mutoro is back on the court and is expected to suit up for the Bernard Mufutu-coached side when the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) league gets underway on Friday, 6 February.

The Kenya Morans guard was in action as Warriors took on KBF back-to-back champions Nairobi City Thunder in a weekend pre-season friendly match that saw the military side go down 82-70.
In just over 14 minutes on the floor, he pulled two of his signature three-pointers in six attempts to finish with 10 points in a match where Simeon Rapudo continued to demonstrate his high-scoring skillset for 23.

Warriors dominated the paint 38-20 but were punished for their 16 turnovers, with the Thunder outscoring them 24-11, despite Mufutu's side having more turnovers to exploit (22).
"It feels great to be back after the injury and playing again with my teammates. I thank God because I’m fully recovered, and I’m truly grateful. I missed the game a lot, and I can’t wait to get back on the floor," Mutoro told the club's media.
He terms his comeback 'a miracle,' saying, "Not everyone fully recovers from an Achilles injury."
He continued, "Professionally, I know it won’t be easy getting back to where I was after missing a whole season, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get the best out of me. I still believe I have what it takes to compete and be among the best. Mentally and physically, I’m ready. I’m fearless and always prepared to step up to any challenge. I’ll let the game speak for itself. Being back on the court means everything to me."
Warriors, the 2019 league champions, are looking to challenge for the title in a league dominated by the Thunder in the last two seasons, with Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) keeping chase.
Mutoro's return adds to the Warriors' depth and experience, joining the likes of former captain John Washika and center Antonio Bwire as some of the team's veterans.
