In the two play-in games played last night between the seeds #9 and #10 in the East and West, the visitors, Miami and Dallas, smashed Chicago and Sacramento, for which the NBA season is over
The play-in tournament in the NBA League continued last night, as we got the first two eliminated teams - Chicago and Sacramento. Interestingly, were knocked out in front of their own fans.
The Bulls were destroyed in their United Center by Miami 109-90, and now they can turn to planning their vacations. The Heat had a 24-point lead already at the break, so the six-time NBA Champions didn't stand a chance.
Miami were led by their All-Star, Tyler Herro, who poured on 38 points, while Bam Adebayo noted a double-double (15 points and 12 rebounds). Among the Bulls, Josh Giddey stood out with 25 points, and Coby White scored 17, although his shooting percentage was abysmal (5/20, 20%).
The Heat's job isn't over as they'll have to beat the Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday (02.00) to secure the playoffs and a duel against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Pretty much the same thing happened in the Western Conference, as Dallas brushed aside the Kings in Sacramento 120-106. Unlike the Bulls, the crew from California actually won the opening quarter (29-27) only to lose the second 44-19! And although they won the remaining two quarters as well, there was no going back.
DeMar DeRozan's 33 points did not help the Kings to avoid defeat, while the recovered Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson led the Mavericks with 27 and 23 points, respectively.
The Texas team will also have to overcome one more obstacle to schedule the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs, as they'll lock horns with the Grizzlies in Memphis on Saturday (04.30).
