"We are ready to kick off. Other teams from Uganda, Tanzania. Still in talks with a team from Ethiopia and Rwanda," Bitok offered.

The deputy president further thanked the Uasin Gishu County government for supporting the event, adding that it would help nurture talents in the athletics-rich county.

"We are expecting a hundred teams and above. We have greatly improved from last year's edition," he told the press.

On his side, the head of the devolved unit Hon. Jonathan Chelilim assured that his administration would leave no stone unturned in ensuring a successful second edition of the tournament.

He further pledged to construct an indoor arena in the county to hasten talent growth.

The tournament will be curtain raised with KVF national league matches that will be played at the same venue.
