Strathmore University women secured a crucial 3-2 win over Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) on Sunday, 11 May in the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) women's Premier League, at the Dashmesh Hockey Stadium.
The thrilling five-goal match saw Rebecca Nasambu opening the scoring in the 7th minute, while Grace Bwire’s brace in the 15th and 27th minutes gave Strathmore a cushion.
MSC responded through Esther Mwikali’s double (12th and 58th minutes), but it wasn’t enough to salvage a point.
Defending champions Blazers were held to a 0-0 draw by high-flying Kisumu Queens at the Kisumu Simba Grounds.
The hosts, who staged a dramatic comeback on Saturday against USIU-A, continued to show they are no pushovers in their debut season.
In another key fixture, Alice Owiti’s 41st-minute goal was enough to hand Lakers a 1-0 win over USIU-A, who end the weekend without a point.
In a weekend where goals proved hard to come by in the men's Premier League, Western Jaguars and Wazalendo, both seeking to bounce back from Saturday’s setbacks, played to a goalless draw at the Eregi Teachers Training College.
Strathmore University Gladiators secured a crucial 1-0 win over KCA University on Sunday in the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Men's Premier League, thanks to a 55th-minute strike from Keith Alusa at Dashmesh Hockey Stadium.

In the men’s Super League, Parkroad Tigers bounced back impressively with a 2-0 victory over Mvita XI. Gordon Odiwor struck early in the 10th minute before Trevor Kabaka sealed the win in the 45th minute.
Kisumu Youngsters and Wazalendo Masters played to a 1-1 draw. Eric Ochieng gave the visitors the lead in the 40th minute before Joram Opembe equalized for Kisumu nine minutes later.
In the Women’s Super League, Lakers B put up a commanding performance to beat NCBA Wazalendo Pearls 3-0.
Pavince Omondi opened the scoring in the 11th minute, while Jane Achieng added a brace in the 42nd and 45th minutes to cap a dominant display.
