Daniel Wanyonyi will be seeking redemption in rematch against Mandonga

Tanzanian boxer Karim "Mtu Kazi" Mandonga is set to take on Kenyan boxer Daniel Wanyonyi in a highly anticipated rematch on March 18 at the Tsavo Ball Room, in KICC Nairobi.

Mandonga defeated Wanyonyi earlier in the year and the latter is keen on proving himself in the upcoming fight.

Mandonga was initially scheduled to face off against US-based Kenyan boxer Raymond "King Kong" Ochieng, but according to Frankline "Kuka" Imbenzi, the Secretary General of the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission, Ochieng has not been able to meet the required weight to fight Mandonga.

Imbenzi stated, "King Kong needs to reduce around 15KGS averagely before the fight night and with the time frame we have it is impossible."

As a result, Mandonga agreed to the rematch against Wanyonyi, who has been training hard to ensure he is in top form for the fight. Imbenzi further stated, "Wanyonyi has been training hard and this is his chance to prove that he still is a prime boxer."

In addition to the Mandonga-Wanyonyi rematch, Rayton "Boom Boom" Okwiri, Fatuma Zarika, and UAE-based Nick "Makaveli" Mwangi are set to take on Thai boxers who are yet to be named.

The event is expected to attract a large crowd, with boxing fans from across the region eager to see some of the best boxing talent in Kenya and beyond.

The Tsavo Ball Room is expected to be filled to capacity on fight night, with the Kenyan boxing scene continuing to grow in popularity in recent years. The upcoming event will provide an opportunity for fans to witness some of the best boxers in action and promote the sport and its athletes.
