Imbenzi revealed that a deal had been struck with the Tanzanian fighter before his January fight in Kenya.
Tanzania’s internet boxing sensation Karim ‘Mtu Kazi’ Mandonga is set to return to Nairobi for another fight that is already in the works.
That is according to promoter Franklin Imbenzi who is also the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) Secretary General.

In an interview on Capital Sport, Imbenzi revealed that a deal had been struck with the Tanzanian fighter before his first fight that took place in Kenya back in January 2023.
“We had an agreement that if he wins that fight, then we will organize four title fights for him. Now we will have the first on March 18. We are in talks with a Russian boxer and we will reveal the details soon,” Imbenzi is quoted.
The big talking Tanzanian delivered the goods against Kenya’s Daniel Wanyonyi back in January as he ensured the bout, planned to last for 10 rounds, ended halfway after Wanyonyi - who looked unfit and ill prepared - threw in the towel after the conclusion of the fifth round following his refusal to answer the bell for the sixth round leading to Mandonga’s victory via a technical knockout.
Speaking after securing the victory in his maiden boxing appearance outside Tanzania, the 43 year old assured his Kenyan fans that he would once again return to the country to stage another clash.
“I am going to Tanzania but in April I am coming back to Nairobi to finish my next opponent,” Mandonga said then.

According t the report, Imbenzi said there will be five major fights on the evening, which will be christened ‘The Night of Champions’ at the KICC. The bouts will involve Mandonga as well as Kenyan stars Fatma Zarika, Rayton Okwiri, Sarah Achieng and Maurice Okola.
Achieng had been scheduled for a title fight this month in Belgium, but the same was called off as she could not secure her visa on time without any proper communication from the embassy.
