Seventh Lombardi trophy for the G.O.A.T of NFL, surpassed Michael Jordan in the number of championship titles; The 5-times Super Bowl MVP brought the trophy to Tampa after 18 years; A lesson for the 18 years younger last year's Super Bowl MVP. The Buccaneers celebrated with a convincing 31:9 win in the 55th Super Bowl

Where Tom Brady is, there is a trophy. The biggest one in the USA, the Vince Lombardi trophy weighing about three kilograms, worth 25,000 dollars. The indestructible quarterback entered the 44th year of his life, left New England after two decades and went to warm Florida and immediately in his debut season brought the title to the Buccaneers, the second in history of the franchise, after the first one in 2003. Tampa Bay are the champions. They went down in history as the first team to win the title at their stadium. Tom Brady once again confirmed that the NFL did not have a bigger star, that he was rightly G.O.A.T. The biggest ever.

In his 10th match for the trophy, he won his 7th ring, a record that will not be torn down for a long time. Probably, his answer "Next" will follow again, when asked what is the most valuable trophy in his career. And Tom Brady is fully motivated to defend the title next season. In the 55th Super Bowl, last year's champion Kansas City Chiefs were defeated with 31:9 (7:3, 14:3, 10:3, 0:0). There was only one team on the field - Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady played a textbook match, he showed that he is a system, that he is a born winner who pulls his teammates forward, makes them better. They all stood by him. The Buccaneers were outsiders in New Orleans against the Saints, in Green Bay against the Packers, and in the Super Bowl, the Kansas champions were given better chances, but... The Chiefs did not manage to become the first team after 16 years to defend the title. They did not repeat the success of New England from 2005.

In his previous six Super Bowls wins, Brady's team won with a small difference on the score board, but this time - there was no dilemma. Already at the beginning of the last section of the match, it was clear that there was no salvation for the Chiefs, that the trophy will remain at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa for the next year.

The Chiefs acted like a disorganized orchestra. They took the lead with 3:0, and then a shipwreck followed. Mahomes couldn't do anything, Tampa's brutal defense stopped him. He tried to do some of his magic, but he didn't have the help of his teammates who dropped the ball whenever it was mattered.

Tampa dominated in the first two quarters, breaking the favored Chiefs. After 30 minutes, the Buccaneers had an advantage of +15 - 21:6. The hosts did what wanted in the attack. As two weeks ago at Lembo Field, Tom Brady played his first two quarters impressively. He had 16 successful passes from 20 attempts, for 140 yards, and threw three touchdowns. While the defense of last year's Super Bowl winner watched over Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, veterans Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown did their thing in the background.

The "Gronk" participated in only one of the plays against the Packers last week in the final of the National Football Conference (NFC), and last night he scored two touchdowns. The Buccaneers were also helped by the undisciplined defense of the Chiefs, who gave the rival as much as 95 yards (almost the entire field). That is a negative record for half time in the history of matches for the Lombardi trophy when it comes to penalties. On the other hand, the Buccaneers defense gave just five yards on penalties in the first 30 minutes of play.

The Chiefs gave away the second touchdown in the match for the team of Bruce Erians, when they committed a foul during a field goal shot in the middle of the second quarter. Instead of 10:3 for Tampa, it was 14:3. Brady punished the last year's champions, and the Gronk was relentless, easily beating his keeper for the second tied touchdown six and a half minutes before the end of the second period of the game.

Patrick Mahomes, that amazing quarterback of the Chiefs who signed a 10-year contract for 503 million USD (55.1 billion KSH) last summer, was desperate, especially in the first half. He had just nine successful passes from 19 attempts, for a miserable number of 67 yards. With the result 14:3 in the finish of the first half, the Chiefs had a good attacking play, but they stopped in the red zone. Kicker Harrison Butker shot for the second field goal of the match, reduced to 14:6, but they left Brady a little more than a minute.

Andy Reed prepared terrible tactic solutions for the end of the half, took time-outs, tried to get the ball, rushed from one mistake to another. One long pass from Brady to Evans and a "pass interference" by the Chiefs cornerback Breeland was enough to bring Tampa closer to a new touchdown. Eight seconds before the end, Antonio Brown scored a touchdown for a big 21:6 lead after 30 minutes. Before that, a new faul was committed by the Kansas defense, this time by the safety Tyrone Mathieu.

Mahomes was bad in the first two quarters, but his teammates were no better. Tyrick Hill did not catch a clean ball in the end zone of the Buccaneers at the start of the match, and the best tight end of the league, Travis Kelce, also dropped the ball at an important moment for his team. Brady has never managed to score in the first nine Super Bowls in the first quarter, and now he has broken that barrier as well. It should be added that the hosts missed the chance for a touchdown, when they tried to run off their fourth down for a yard, but the running back Ronald Jones did not manage to break through the "wall" of the Chiefs.

Kansas's response was expected in the continuation, but the first attack in the third quarter ended only with a field goal and another three points. Whenever it was needed, Mahomes was stopped by the brutal defense of the team from Florida on the third down. In the first attack for Tampa in the third period of the game, the Brady-Gronk connection started working again, and Leonard Fornet had a great run of more than 30 yards, for the big lead of +19 points - 28:9. In the next play, Mahomes threw the first intercepted ball, only the third in the playoffs in his career. Rookie safety Winfield caught it, and the Buccaneers later gained three more points - 31:9, three minutes before the end of the third quarter.

Mahomes tried in the last quarter, but the quarterback of Kansas, the MVP of the previous Super Bowl, did not manage to throw a touchdown pass and mitigate the defeat. In their last offensive play, Mahomes threw his second intercepted pass, for an evening of nightmares for last year's champion. The new empire of the Chiefs was stopped, which threatened to dominate the league in the following years. Brady stood in the way of Andy Reed's company. Big Tom has now surpassed Michael Jordan for the number of titles. He became only the second quarterback to reach the title with different teams. Before him, Peyton Manning managed to do that with the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos. Tampa did not have a weak spot, and great credit goes to Todd Bowles, the defensive coordinator of the Buccaneers, who blunted the, until this match, brutal attack of the Chiefs.

Apart from Brady, for whom this is the seventh ring, Rob Gronkowski got his fourth, and for the others, this is their first one. Coach Bruce Erians won two Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but not as head coach. This is his debut title as head coach in the second season with the Buccaneers. At 68, he became the oldest coach on the NFL throne. He returned in 2019 from retirement after many years with the Arizona Cardinals.

Tom Brady finished the match with 201 yards, 21 successful passes from 29 attempts. He had three touchdown passes, all in the first 30 minutes. Leonard Fornet ran 89 yards and had another 46 after four catches. Gronkowski had two touchdowns for a total of 67 yards, Brown had a touchdown and 22 yards, and Mike Evans collected 31 yards.

At Kansas, Patrick Mahomes had more yards thrown than Brady - 270, but without a touchdown, with two intercepted passes. He had barely 50 percent of successful passes - 26/49. The only one worth noting at Chiefs was Travis Kelce with 133 yards. Mahomes played the first match of his career without throwing a touchdown. Tampa Bay is the seventh team in history to lift the trophy from the "wild card" round. Brady celebrated the title with his children and beautiful wife, Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen.

Interestingly, Tampa as a city got another champion. Before the Buccaneers, the hockey players of the team from Florida won the NHL trophy last summer, and the baseball team reached the grand final of the MLB, where they were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Little Tampa, a city of 335,000 inhabitants, took over the primacy once held by Boston, which had great champions in the Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics.

The Canadian singer The Weeknd had a show at halftime. He paid 7 million USD out of his own pocket for a a halftime stage spectacle. Next year, the 56th Super Bowl will be played in Los Angeles at the magnificent So Fi Stadium.
