The men’s Premier League title race took a dramatic twist last weekend when Butali defeated USIU-A 3–1, climbing to the top
The 2025 Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) season enters another decisive weekend with more than 40 fixtures lined up across the Premier League, Super League, and National Leagues.
Title battles, tight promotion races, and double-header pressure define one of the busiest weekends so far.

The men’s Premier League title race took a dramatic twist last weekend when Butali defeated USIU-A 3–1, climbing to the top of the table, but the standings remain extremely tight.
Butali lead the table, having played 14 matches, sitting narrowly ahead on points.
USIU-A sit second, now on 13 matches, with a superior goal difference of 23, compared to Butali’s 21.
This means USIU-A can reclaim the top of the Premier League as early as this weekend if they win their match this weekend.
Their crucial test comes on Saturday at 3 pm, when they travel to face Strathmore University at Madaraka.
Earlier on Saturday, defending champions Western Jaguars host Kenya Police at Eregi, while on Sunday Sikh Union Nairobi face Jaguars in Eregi again.
Sunday also features Wazalendo away to Strathmore in the students’ second match of the weekend.
The women’s Premier League continues to produce its own high-speed title duel; Lakers are still on top on 33 points after beating Amira Sailors 1-0 last weekend.
Blazers, unbeaten with 29 points from 13 matches, remain within striking distance.
Saturday’s headline PLW fixture sees USIU-A Ladies host Strathmore University at 1pm, while KU Ladies face MSC Ladies later at 3:00 pm.
On Sunday, the battles intensify as MSC Ladies play Twinkle in Jamhuri High School, Strathmore University host Kisumu Queens in Madaraka while Amira Sailors play USIU-A Ladies in Impala.

In the men’s Super League, Saturday delivers several evenly matched contests, as Nakuru Hockey Club hosts Wazalendo Masters at Greensteds, the students’ matchup between University of Eldoret and University of Nairobi will go down in Eldoret, Kisii Falcons host Sailors at Cardinal Otunga, while Kenyatta University play Mvita XI at the Kenyatta University Grounds.
Sunday’s fixtures include Kisumu Youngstars vs Sailors at Kisumu Day, University of Eldoret vs Wazalendo Masters in Eldoret, Nakuru Hockey Club vs UoN Men at Greensteds International School.
In the women’s Super League, Saturday features key matchups include Swans vs Lakers-B at Impala, GHF Rift Pirates Ladies vs NCBA Wazalendo Pearls at Greensteds, Daystar University Ladies vs GHF Rift Pirates Ladies in Athi River and MMU Ladies vs Gorillas Ladies at JKUAT Grounds.
In the men’s National League, Saturday fixtures include GHF Rift Pirates Men vs Nyari HC at Greensteds, Kaimosi Friends Uni vs Nandi Hawks in Kaimosi, Kirinyaga Knights vs MMU Men at Ngaru Girls, Lakers HC – Men vs Kisii Uni at Kisumu Simba, Snippers vs Daystar Uni Men in Wote, TUK vs Mombasa West at Impala Grounds and UoN Cubs vs MSC Men at UoN Grounds.
