The team will face eternal rivals Uganda in their final matches of the day

Kenya 7s national team in Accra, Ghana for the All-African Games, Morans will be out to pick more wins when they lock horns with Tunisia and Ghana later in the day. Following that, they will face off with noisy neighbors Uganda in what is expected to be a heated match.

The Louis Khisia-coached side will be looking to register their second win in the West African country. They started their campaign on a low, suffering two consecutive losses to Burkina Faso (10-5), and Zimbabwe Cheetahs (27-22) in a closely contested match that was decided on sudden death.

They would then bounce back to winning ways after heaping a 55-0 misery on hapless Benin. They will be keen to keep the fine form going when they tackle their opponents later on Thursday.

Kenya Harlequins’ halfback Cornelius Mokoro was the man of the match when Kenya defeated Benin.

Benin started the match on a low by infringing and they paid for their mistakes with a yellow card. That saw Kenya earn the advantage. The Kenyans fought on, and Kenya Mokoro did not hesitate to score a converted try which saw Kenya take an early lead.

The halfback would then score another five-pointer for the Kenyans and converted it to see the scores rise to 14-0.

When the match restarted, it was Brian Mutua racing clear to score under the posts, adding five more points to Kenya’s scoreboard. The Kenyans were now visibly enjoying the match, scoring another corner try before George Ooro showed their opponents who is king by scoring another one. His try would be the last of the first half.

In the closing half, Morans danced through their opponents’ defense to score another corner try before Mokoro managed his hattrick. He would then exploit a gap in the blindside to score five more points which confirmed the Kenyans’ lead. They scored two more converted tries to see the match end 55-0.

The tournament has attracted rugby men and women's teams across Africa which will participate for the first time in the history of the games.

The Men’s teams include Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Burkina-Faso, and Benin while the Women’s teams will include Uganda, Tunisia, Madagascar, Ghana, and Nigeria.

The rugby games are taking place at the newly constructed rugby stadium at the University of Ghana, Legon, Accra.
