The two sides will rekindle their rivalry just weeks after meeting in the Prinsloo 7s final, where Strathmore stunned the Bankers to claim top honours.
This time, KCB will be eager to settle scores, while the Leos chase back-to-back triumphs in Embu, having won the title three times before it joined the National 7s Circuit calendar.
KCB secured their place in the final with a commanding 31-7 victory over Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).
Festus Shiasi opened the scoring before Vincent Onyala crossed the whitewash for the Bankers’ second try.
Kilwake then powered over from a lineout to extend the lead.
The second half saw Emmanuel Opondo dot down, with Brian Wahinya converting, before Kilwake grabbed his brace. Wahinya added the extras once more to put the game beyond reach.
MMUST fought back for a consolation try, but it was too little, too late, as KCB cruised into the final.
Strathmore Leos too strong for Oilers
Strathmore Leos, on the other hand, brushed aside Menengai Oilers with a 24-7 win.
They capitalized on an early lapse in concentration from Oilers to score through Ken Mwita, who also converted. Barnabas Owuor then lit up the match with a brilliant individual effort, ensuring the students took control of the first half.
The second half was all Strathmore, as they kept Oilers pinned in their own 22. Victor Mola finished off a flowing team move to stretch the lead, before another try in the corner further tilted the tie in the Leos’ favour.
Oilers finally broke free with a late try from Brian Achacha, but it proved nothing more than a consolation.
