Enterprise, Mwamba Cup draws announced

The draws for the 2024 Mwamba and Enterprise Cups have been finalized, setting the stage for an exciting rugby competition featuring teams from the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship and Nationwide leagues.

These tournaments will run alongside the prestigious Kenya Cup, promising thrilling rugby action throughout the 2024/2025 season.

Mwamba Cup Round of 16

The Mwamba Cup's Round of 16 will take place on December 14, followed by the quarterfinals on February 8, semifinals on March 8, and the final on March 25, 2025.

Key matchups in the Round of 16 include Mombasa RFC facing Sigalagala, USIU going up against AP Warriors, and UoE Trojans clashing with Mean Machine in an exciting battle.

Other fixtures feature TUM Marines versus Kenya Prisons, Western Bulls taking on Shamberere TTI, Makueni RFC playing Kisii RFC, JKUAT competing against Project 61, and Kabarak University squaring off with Zetech Oaks.

Enterprise Cup Round of 16

Defending champions Kabras RFC, who have won three consecutive titles, will open their campaign against Kisumu RFC.

Last year’s runners-up, KCB Rugby, will face Mwamba RFC, while Kenya Harlequin is set to take on Strathmore Leos in a highly anticipated clash.

Nakuru RFC will meet Catholic Monks, Menengai Oilers will battle Daystar Falcons, and MMUST will face off against Homeboyz. Nondies are drawn against Impala Saracens, while South Coast Pirates will take on Blak Blad in the remaining Round of 16 fixture.

The quarterfinals are scheduled for February 8, semifinals for March 8, and the final for April 22.

The Enterprise Cup, which returned in 2023, faced challenges with several teams giving walkovers. The 2019/20 season was cut short before the semifinals due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
