The Englishman’s return to Europe is imminent, but will he join his former Manchester United teammate in the Netherlands?
Jesse Lingard - one of the greatest talents English football has had in the 21st century and, at the same time, one of the Three Lions’ players who experienced the biggest downfall.
From Manchester United’s exceptional prospect and an attempt to revive his career at Nottingham Forest, Lingard ended up at the South Korean FC Seoul, where he spent the last two years. Now, he is a free agent, and his return to Europe is imminent. But which team will he join?
There’s allegedly a number of interested parties, from the EPL relegation strugglers West Ham and Wolverhampton to the Italian Genoa. However, the English media outlet Daily Mail specifically points out the Dutch Feyenoord and their head coach, and Lingard’s ex-United teammate, Robin van Persie.
Despite the troubles he has in Rotterdam, the former striker and now a tactician is keen on bringing in the 33-year-old, who recorded 19 goals and 10 assists in 67 appearances with Seoul, counting on his offensive versatility and experience.
🚨 Feyenoord are among the clubs to have explored a move for Jesse Lingard, who is available on a free transfer after leaving FC Seoul.

Apart from the Red Devils, the South Koreans, and Forest, Lingard played for Leicester, Birmingham, Brighton, Derby County, and West Ham (all as a United loanee), and made 32 appearances for the England national team, scoring six goals and providing five assists. However, his Three Lions days are long gone, as he played his last international match in October 2021 against Andorra.
Either way, at Feyenoord or some other team, Lingard will be back in the spotlight. The question is whether he can remind the football world of his old self again.
