The triumph crowned a memorable season for the university side, who recently secured their maiden promotion to the Kenya Cup after finishing second in the KRU Championship.
Having fallen short in the Championship final against Mwamba RFC, the Cougars were determined to finish their season on a high and did so in emphatic fashion.
Mombasa RFC, who had endured an inconsistent campaign, were equally eager to end their campaign positively but found themselves overwhelmed by a ruthless JKUAT outfit that seized control from the outset.
The Cougars needed just a minute to draw first blood when Clyde Nyayota dotted down from the base of an eight-man pick. Smith Muhoya added the conversion to hand JKUAT an early 7-0 lead.
Four minutes later, Elias Imani powered over from a rolling maul, and Muhoya was once again accurate from the tee as the lead stretched to 14-0.
JKUAT continued to dominate territory and possession, with Davies Masinga crossing for the third try of the afternoon to make it 19-0.
The pressure showed no signs of easing as the Cougars exploited space out wide, allowing Shaddy Odhiambo to finish off a well-worked move and increase the advantage to 24-0.
A slick passing move then produced the fifth try as JKUAT stormed into a 29-0 lead before Mombasa finally managed to get on the scoreboard.
Jeff Ojuak added further misery for the coastal side, grabbing two quick tries as the Cougars tightened their grip on the contest and surged to a 39-5 advantage.
The second half followed a similar pattern. Powell Otolo crossed over from a lineout move to extend the lead before tighthead prop Isaac Wetulo bulldozed his way over near the posts. The successful conversion pushed the score to 53-5.
Mombasa responded with an unconverted try, but there was little they could do to slow the relentless Cougars' attack.
Imani later completed his brace as JKUAT achieved the 60-point tally, sealing a comprehensive 60-12 victory and ensuring the Mwamba Cup would head to Juja.
The win provides the perfect ending to an outstanding season for JKUAT Cougars, who now turn their attention to life in the Kenya Cup after a campaign that delivered both promotion and silverware.
