
KCB Rugby romp in Enterprise Cup quarters with dominant Mwamba

In Nakuru, Menengai Oilers stormed into the Enterprise Cup quarterfinals with a dominant 80-17 victory over Daystar Falcons at the ASK Showground
KCB Rugby delivered a commanding performance, crushing Mwamba RFC 89-12 at the KCB Sports Club on Saturday, December 14, 2024, to secure a spot in the Enterprise Cup quarterfinals.
The Bankers set the tone early, with Eric Miheso scoring the opening try within minutes. Elvis Namusasi added the conversion for a 7-0 lead.
Michael Wanjala soon followed with a brilliant try, though the conversion went wide. Elphas Adunga capitalized on a defensive lapse to add an unconverted try, extending the score to 17-0.
KCB continued their onslaught with a penalty try awarded after a dangerous tackle at the try line, pushing the score to 24-0. Michael Kimwele added the fourth try, further widening the gap to 29-0.
Youngster Andycole Omolo showcased his prowess, scoring his first try of the day, with Namusasi converting to make it 36-0.
Mwamba finally got on the scoreboard through Eugene Odhiambo’s drop goal, cutting the deficit to 36-3.
Before halftime, Ian Omoke and Omolo (with his second try) added to KCB’s tally, sending the teams into the break at 50-3.
KCB maintained their dominance in the second half, with Adunga scoring again and six more tries following. Mwamba managed three penalty kicks but could not keep pace, succumbing to an 89-12 defeat.

Menengai Oilers stormed into the Enterprise Cup quarterfinals with a dominant 80-17 victory over Daystar Falcons at the ASK Showground in Nakuru on Saturday.
The Oilers' onslaught began early, with Clinton Odhiambo and Timothy Omela crossing the line.
Daystar briefly responded with a penalty, but the Oilers quickly regained control through tries from Chrispine Shitundo, Abutwalib Wesonga, and Odhiambo.
The second half saw no let-up from the Oilers. Captain Ibrahim Oyoo, Shitundo, Celestine Mboi, Charles Osgood, Nelson Tengetenge, and Odhiambo all touched down, with Omela and Wesonga converting to seal a commanding win.
The quarterfinals are slated for Saturday, February 8, 2025.
