Kenya Cup final's match officials unveiled

Kabras RFC will welcome KCB RFC at the Kakamega Showground for the nerve-wracking final

The Kenya Rugby Union has released the names of the officials that will be on duty during the Kenya Cup finals scheduled for Saturday 11 at the Kakamega Showground.

Victor Oduor will serve as the center referee and will be assisted by Duncan Kioko and Constant Cap.

Victor Oduor

Oduor will hit a milestone this weekend as he will be in charge of his 100th match. The Ngecho Secondary School librarian is a World Rugby Level 3 Accredited Match Official and has been the secretary of Rift Valley Rugby Referees Society since 2014. He also serves on the Rugby Africa Match Officials panel, is a World Rugby Match Officials Educator as well as the Kenya Rugby Union’s Regional Development Officer for the South Rift region.

Oduor has previously officiated at the World Rugby Junior Trophy as well as various Rugby Africa continental fixtures.

Constant Cap

Constant Cap is a researcher, blogger, and renowned World Rugby Level 3 rugby referee and educator with over 18 years of experience both at the local and continental level with over 100 first-class Kenya Cup matches. He was the referee during the Kenya Cup match pitting the two rivals.

Duncan Kioko

He will serve alongside Duncan Kioko who has had a glittering refereeing journey. He was in charge during the final of Zimbabwe’s prestigious Nedbank Rugby Challenge Cup between Old Hararians and Old Georgians at the Harare Sports Club last year. He has also officiated a number of Kenya Cup matches.

The 2022/23 Kenya Cup finals promise to be the most exciting finals in history. Kabras RFC have been unbeaten this season and will be in perfect shape to welcome the Bankers. KCB RFC on the other hand have only lost a match against Kabras RFC and they are in Kakamega keen to avenge.
