Two Kenya Cup fixtures are scheduled for Saturday with the Mwamba clash against Menengai Oilers postponed.

Kenya Cup action takes centre stage this weekend with 2016 champions Kabras seeking to whittle down KCB’s lead at the summit of the log when they take on Blakblad on Saturday afternoon

Kabras vs Blakblad

Kabras will be brimming with confidence after winning their friendly against the Kenya Simbas in the build-up to Simbas' Rugby Africa Cup clash against Senegal.

They will, however, be without a number of key players including Jone Kubu, who had an imperious debut against Senegal last week, Dan Sikuta, Brain Tanga and George Nyambua among others who are all in duty for country.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Blakblad head coach Williams Motto was wary of the long break and lamented an injury to scrumhalf Brain Wahinya, who is set to be on the sidelines for a number of weeks.

“The boys have prepared well, it is our first match after a very long break. We were supposed to play them in matchday five but sports was suspended in the country when we were in Kisumu en route to play Kabras,”

“We had one friend with the National Team, I will be missing a key player in the game, Brain Wahinya got injured on Thursday while training and he will be out for six weeks after injuring his jaw, he is a very crucial member of the squad and we will miss him,” said Motto.

Impala Saracens vs Nakuru RFC

Impala Saracens head into the clash in high spirits following their win over Menengai Oilers in the only Kenya Cup game played last weekend.

The match was their first win of the season after drawing against Mwamba and suffering a loss against Kenya Harlequins in their opening game of the season.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Mitch Ocholla revealed that he is angling for a proper rugby clash against Nakuru but will be without a number of key players in his squad.

“We are looking up to a good match against Nakuru, we are coming up against a side that plays total rugby. We will reinforce our plan and we hoping to get the best out of Nakuru, we cannot really preempt what will happen,”

“Bill Arigi is out with a back injury after having an outstanding match against Oilers last week, Marlon Otieno also has an injury, James Mwangi and Johnson Waiganjo will also be out with illnesses,” said Ocholla.
