The tournament, which forms part of the celebrations marking Rugby Africa's 40th anniversary, will bring together 12 nations battling for continental supremacy in what promises to be a thrilling weekend of sevens rugby.

Defending champions South Africa headline Pool A, where they will face Zambia, Nigeria, and hosts Mauritius. Pool B consists of Madagascar, Uganda, Ghana and Tunisia.

For Kenya, Pool C presents a familiar challenge, particularly against Zimbabwe, who denied the Morans a podium finish in the 2025 edition.

The Zimbabwe Cheetahs edged Kenya 21-19 in the third-place playoff in Mauritius, leaving the East Africans to settle for fourth place.

South Africa enter the tournament as favourites after clinching the 2025 Africa Men’s Sevens title with a commanding 28-12 victory over Madagascar in the final.

The Springbok Sevens showcased their dominance throughout the competition and will be keen to retain their crown.

Mauritius will, once again, host the tournament, marking the third consecutive year that the island nation stages Africa's premier men's sevens championship.

With some of the continent's strongest sevens nations in attendance, fans are expected to flock to the coastal venue for two days of high-intensity action as teams battle for regional bragging rights and continental glory.
