The match was a preparation for Simbas’ match against Border Bulldogs

Kenya 15s national team, Simbas will have themselves to blame after losing 42-19 to the South Africa Junior Springboks, Junior Boks in a build-up match played at the Stellenbosch Academy on Thursday 4 May.

This match was a preparation for the Simbas’ upcoming match against the Border Bulldogs on Saturday 6. The Simbas lost their opening two matches and were using this match to strengthen their weak points.

Jerome Paarwater’s charges scored through Jeanson Musoga, Menengai Oilers’ speedster Beldad Ogeta, and Griffin Musila. Timothy Mmasi and Ntabeni Dukisa added the extras.

The Junior Boks eventually proved to be too superior over their opponents, hitting them harder before full-time.

However, if history is anything to go by, in 2022, the Simbas registered their first win in the Currie Cup by defeating Border Bulldogs 35-12 in their first division clash in Alice, South Africa. This time, the Simbas will be in the same country, where they have been camping for more than two weeks now, keen to rewrite history and record a win.

The side already missed two of their opening matches to Boland Cavaliers and Leopards. They will have to flex their muscles harder to secure a better position. They however started off badly, losing to San Clemente Rhinos and Eastern Province.
