KRU Championship full fixtures: Homeboyz face Zetech Oaks in season opener

The fixtures span until March 1, with clubs clashing every week, aside from a short break in early January.
The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has released the 2024/25 Championship fixtures, with an action-packed season set to kick off on Saturday 16 November.
Relegated Homeboyz RFC will face Zetech Oaks in a highly anticipated season opener. The Deejayz were relegated from the Kenya Cup last season for the first time after 13 years.
They were in their poorest form following a 16-match winless streak since mid-January 2023 as they only managed a draw in their campaign with their last win coming on 14 January 2023 when they beat Mean Machine 31-7 in the 2022/23 season.
Their relegation was confirmed after they dished out a walkover against Mwamba RFC in the Kenya Cup week 10 action. That saw them deducted two points, leaving them with zero points.
They will be keen to re-assert their dominance.
Other league heavyweights, including Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) Monks and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) Rugby, are also preparing to hit the ground running.
CUEA Monks will take on the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) Marines, with both teams eager to set the pace for the season.
MMUST will go head-to-head with Mean Machine in another exciting Varsity matchup, while Daystar Falcons host the United States International University (USIU) Martials in another Varisty Derby, and Western Bulls face the University of Eldoret (UoE) Trojans.
Rounding off the first round, the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Cougars will play against Mombasa RFC.
Each team is scheduled to play 11 rounds in this competitive league format, where they will battle for top standings to secure a spot in the season playoffs. The fixtures span until March 1, with clubs clashing every week, aside from a short break in early January.
