Four matches are expected to be played this Saturday

The battle for KRU Championship is set to go down the wire on Saturday 1 April with eight teams scheduled to play at the quarter-final stage.

Jomo Kenyatta University Grounds will play host to two matches pitting AP against Kitale RFC at 1pm before paving way for the second one that will bring the host against Machakos University.

Kitale RFC narrowly won 8-5 against Kibabii University and will be keen to impress. JKUAT on the other hand won 23-21 over Maseno University and will be seeking to capitalize on the home advantage to emerge winners.

Meanwhile, Moi University Arsonists who received a walkover from Kilifi RFC will welcome long-time rivals Makueni RFC at 3pm at the Moi University Grounds.

The Arsonists managed a 27-20 win over Kitale RFC and will be looking to extend their winning streak.

In the final quarterfinal match, Sigalagala National Polytechnic will travel to the Coastal region to tackle Mombasa RFC at the Mombasa Sports Club.

Mombasa RFC will be seeking to get back to the second tier after their dream was cut short by Daystar Falcons last season.

Sigalagala have had an impressive run this season, with their latest victory being a 13-0 win against MKU Thika.

Other teams like Northern Suburbs, Molo RFC, TUM, Machakos University, and Kibabii University will have to wait longer to qualify for the Championship level.
