The second half proved to be a much closely contested affair as only Nakuru managed the only try of the game which was nowhere near enough to make up for the first half damage as Oilers held on for a 26-13 victory to become the second side to book their slot in the semis of the tournament.
"Being the first game of the season, I think I am overally pleased with our performance despite some rustiness. Our set pieces were strong, we carried the ball well and we defended well especially in the second half to get the win," Weru remarked after the game.
