
Oluoch, Olindi return for Shujaa’s exploits in Hong Kong and Singapore

Shujaa are in Pool D in Hong Kong alongside giants New Zealand, Ireland and South Africa
Jeff Oluoch is set to make his first start of this season’s World Rugby Sevens Series after being named in Shujaa’s travelling squad to the Hong Kong and Singapore legs set for late March and early April.
Johnstone Olindi also returns to the squad for the first time since the Dubai and Cape Town rounds of the 2023 series as Head Coach Damian McGrath named a selected squad to do battle in the Far East.

Commenting on his return to the squad for the first time since the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022, Oluoch, who recently became a police officer after passing out from the Administration Police Training College said, “It feels good to be back with the team. I have been putting in a shift and it feels good to be back. There are massive expectations from everyone but we know the boys will not let you down.”
He also paid tribute to the fans saying, “To all our fans out there, we thank you for the support out there. We still need you for the coming assignments and we are sure we will earn our slot and keep the side afloat as a core team.”
Nelson Oyoo will captain the thirteen man squad selected for the two legs as the 2023 Series head into its last four tournaments.
Currently, the team sits in 13th place which is one of the three relegation playoff spots having accumulated only 29 points from the opening seven rounds.
Shujaa are in Pool D in Hong Kong alongside giants New Zealand, Ireland and South Africa.
In Pool A, Argentina will battle it out with Fiji, Samoa, and Canada. Pool B has hosts Hong Kong, France, Great Britain, and Uruguay while Pool C has Australia will face off with USA, Spain, and Japan.
