The Senegalese coach takes over from Belgian Antoine Plasman
Rugby outfit Kenya Harlequins have officially unveiled their new Senegalese head coach Amady Diallo who is set to take over at the Kenya Cup team on a three year contract.
For a second successive campaign, the Ngong road based outfit opted to hire a foreign coach within their ranks as the Senegalese coach takes over from Belgian Antoine Plasman who led Quins at the start of last season’s Kenya Cup fixtures but had to cut short his two year contract with the side due to health reasons as he travelled back home.

Diallo, a former Senegal women’s sevens and Lebanon men’s and women’s 7s team coach, is a level 3 World Rugby Coach who played the game for the Senegal 7s and 15s. The 36 year old will be assisted by former Kenya Sevens internationals Patrice Agunda (deputy head coach) and Eden Agero (backs coach) while Larry Nyambok is expected to fill in the strength and conditioning department.
Before joining Quins, his latest assignments included coaching Club Arles-France and high school rugby team Pasquet Arles France in the 2019/2022 season.
“Amady’s experience with youthful sides comes in handy and his exposure in the French league will be beneficial to us. If you notice, our long term plan is to groom our own players who have retired from the game to take up coaching roles. That is why Patrice and Eden are assisting Amady,” Quins chairman Michael Wanjala told the Nation.

In the new season, Diallo will be keen to get back Quins into playoff contention as they missed out on a chance of fighting for the crown after finishing in fifth place behind champions KCB, Kabras Sugar, Strathmore Leos and Menengai Oilers.
