The final is slated for a 10 PM kick off on Sunday

Former Kenya 7s skipper, Andrew Amonde has sent his best wishes to Kenya Simbas ahead of their Rugby World Cup qualifies against African powerhouse Namibia on Sunday.

Kenya face a daunting task against the Southern Africa nation in the final of the Rugby Africa Cup that doubles up as the the 2023 Rugby World Cup qualifies with the winner punching a direct ticket to the intercontinental tourney.

Amonde shares the opinion of many Kenyans who have noted a massive improvement in the Simbas game as he threw his unwavering support behind the team.

"Simbas have done well, as a player who has been part of the Simbas I wish them all the best, playing Namibia has always been a big task for us and this is the first time that we are really confident about the team that is going to play Namibia in the finals.

We just have to remind them to work very hard, everybody is supporting them back at home and they have already done very well getting to the final and I know they will go through that hurdle and take us to the World Cup," said Amonde.

Simbas could still seal a place at the World Cup despite losing the final as they will enter the Repacharge qualifiers against four other nations.

Amonde also lauded the support offered to Simbas as they contested in the 2022 Currie Cup First Division where they won three games as he added that playing Namibia in France will be an advantage.

"A little investment has been made, giving them an opportunity to play in the Currie Cup was a good idea and it is something that will continue improving our rugby and I would like it to be a norm because it will raise the level of our game.

It is the first time we are playing Namibia away from their usual home ground and it's an added advantage because they have usually beaten us at their home ground, we are taking our chances and we are wishing them all the best, I wish I was there to help them but I know they are in able hands," said Amonde.
