Kenya will face Spain in the semi final of the 9th-16th placement semi-finals at 10:01 am.
Shujaa finally won back-to-back encounters in the Singapore 7s after edging Japan 12-10 in a nervy finish to stay on course to a ninth-place finish.
Innocent Simiyu’s charges had a nightmare start in the fifth leg of the HSBC World Seven Series after going down to the USA and getting hammered against South Africa.

Restarts have been Shujaa’s Achilles heel and again they conceded a try in the opening minute of the game when Kippei Ishida touched down to hand the Asian nation a 5-0 lead after they failed to convert the try.
Kenya, however, sailed ahead two minutes later when Herman Humwa who was one of the shining lights on Day 1 got another try with Alvin Otieno converting to make it a two-point ball game.

This time Kenya produced some magic in the restart with led to Billy Odhiambo crossing the white wash as they went into the half time break leading 12-5.
Kenya remained pointless in the second half with Japan bagging a try in injury time but they were again let down by their kicking as Shujaa breathed a sigh of relief to march on in the 9th-16th placement matches.
