The two teams will clash on Tuesday 25 July, 2023

Spain and Samoa will be looking to extend their winning streaks when they meet for the second time in history on Tuesday 25 July, 2023 for the final pool B match the World Rugby U20 trophy match that will be played at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The Spaniards maintained their top spot in the group with a superior point difference after a 48-18 win over Kenya U20 national team, Chipu in the second pool B World Rugby U20 Trophy match played at the same grounds yesterday.

The Spanish men will be head to the game on the back of a resounding 53-0 victory over the Hong Kong U20 team.

With 2/3 wins, the side comfortably sits top of the table with 10 points followed closely by their next opponents, Samoa U20 who also have 10 points.

Samoa have reached the finals in each of their previous three appearances in the U20 Trophy and they, took a step towards a fourth on the opening day of the 2023 showpiece after beating the hosts Kenya U20 34-25.They would later narrowly edge Hong Kong 30-27 on Thursday.

They will want to continue on that trajectory as they take on Spain on Thursday.

Spain though, have their own ambitions in Nairobi and they will be fueled by their victory over Kenya.

Their only tournament appearance was in 2016 when they made the final before losing to Samoa.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport on Thursday 20 after winning over Chipu, Spain U20 captain Alvaro Garcia Albo noted that they were thirsty for revenge.

"We lost against Samoa in 2016 and we want to play and we will try and win. We are not the biggest team and Samoa is a physical team. We want to play the game, stick to our system and win the game," the scrum half noted.

Their coach Raul Perez is anticipating a competitive match as he noted that this tournament is made up of little talents which are itching to sprout.

Perez said, they had to be at their best to contain a Kenyan team that was very physical.

"It is a really hard competition and the next day we have a big game against Samoa. We will prepare well for this game and hope to do our best and later see what happened. All games in the first half have been hard. They started opening up in the second half," he noted.

Regardless of the result come Tuesday, both teams will know that they have to perform well in order to maintain their status quo.
