Kenya 7s national team, Shujaa, will be aiming for redemption when they line up for the highly anticipated Hong Kong 7s tournament, set to take place from Friday, 28 to Sunday, 30 March in China.
The team is eager to put behind their Vancouver 7s blues, in which they failed to register a win and finished last with just a point.
As they head into the competition, Kevin Wambua’s charges have been placed in Pool C alongside Spain, Great Britain, and France.
The team will be looking to make a statement and secure a strong finish to improve their chances of facing relatively easier opponents in the subsequent Singapore leg.
They will open their campaign on Friday, 28 March, against Spain at 6:39 am (EAT) before facing Great Britain at 9:23 am (EAT).
They will then take a break before returning on Saturday, 29 March to face France at 5:16 am (EAT).
Having already faced France and Great Britain in Vancouver and losing 33-7 and 26-10 respectively, Kenya will be keen to turn the tide this time.
Spain, Dubai Sevens silver medalists, last faced Shujaa in Cape Town, where Kenya suffered a 14-7 defeat, missing out on a semifinal spot.
A strong performance in Hong Kong will be crucial as a semifinal finish would ensure 'easier' opponents in Singapore.
SQUAD

The squad, which remains largely unchanged, will be captained by the powerful forward George Ooro alongside playmaker Samuel Asati.
Kabras RFC continues to have strong representation, with Kevin Wekesa, William Mwanji, Brian Tanga, and Jone Kubu all making the cut.
Speedster Patrick Odongo, former captains Vincent Onyala and Tony Omondi, as well as Nygel Amaitsa, Floyd Wabwire and Dennis Abukuse have also been included.
