Simon Odongo has been named deputy head coach and will also oversee both the Sevens and 15s defense departments in a strategic move to bolster the club’s technical capacity.

Odongo brings with him a strong coaching resume and is expected to play a key role in shaping the team’s tactical backbone.

The club has also strengthened its fitness and conditioning unit by bringing in former KCB Rugby strength and conditioning coach Michael Shamiah, alongside rugby great Willy Ambaka, who joins in a similar capacity.

Ambaka, one of Kenya’s most decorated sevens players, brings a wealth of international experience and professionalism to the setup.

Veteran fly-half Eden Agero transitions into coaching as the assistant coach in charge of skills and attack, while Brian Oyiengo takes up responsibilities for development squads and women’s rugby.

Further solidifying their commitment to growing the women’s game, Kenya Lionesses international Sheila Chajira has been appointed as the women’s team coach.

Chajira, a standout player for the Kenya Lionesses, will bring firsthand experience and leadership to the women’s side.

In the medical department, Gerald Omondi will serve as head of physiotherapy, supported by Kate Muisyo and Kennedy Barua. Wayne Mungei will serve as general team manager, with Christeve Wangila taking charge as women’s team manager.

The 12-member technical bench includes eight returnees from the previous management team. Impressively, nine members have international experience with Kenya’s senior teams, while all twelve have held roles in Kenya Cup coaching or management, underscoring the wealth of experience at Quins’ disposal.

“This team brings an exciting blend of traditional Quins values, top-level rugby experience, and innovative, ground-breaking coaching ideas.

The new team has already taken over, and we are ready to support them and see what they can achieve,” said Joel Nganga, Director of Rugby at Kenya Harlequin.
