Obiri and Chepngetich lead past halfway, after going through 5km in a speedy 14:48 as McColgan ran in third with the rest of the field trailing the trio far behind.
At 7km, Obiri pulled away from her compatriot Chepngetich, who was using the race as part of her preparation for her world marathon title defence in Oregon.
The 2019 winner in the race, Obiri, was cruising to a relatively dominant finish but McColgan closed in well. Obiri held her off fir the 30:15 finish as the Briton clocked 30:19 for second place while Chepngetich was third in 30:29.
