Reigning Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred is setting her sights on an even more fruitful 2025 season, promising to surpass her stellar achievements from 2024 both on and off the track.

After a year of rising to global prominence, the 23-year-old Saint Lucian athlete is ready to elevate her game further while continuing to inspire her nation.

Having dominated the sprint scene in 2024, Alfred has already warned her fiercest competitors, including Sha’Carri Richardson, Shericka Jackson, and Gabby Thomas.

She aims to keep Saint Lucia’s flag flying high on the international stage.

Alfred’s aspirations for 2025 are both ambitious and well-rounded. Speaking at the World Travel Market, where she was representing her nation as Saint Lucia’s tourism ambassador, Alfred shared her top three priorities for the upcoming season:

Top of her list is personal growth. She emphasized the importance of holistic development.

"My top three targets for 2025 are to grow as a person, mentally, physically, and spiritually," she said.

Beyond personal growth, Alfred is focused on inspiring her nation: She is committed to being a beacon of hope and inspiration for the youth of Saint Lucia.

"I want to continue inspiring those in my country, especially the youth," she added.

The last item on her list is to dominate the track. With her eyes on further success, she aims to continue performing at the highest level for herself, her coach, and those who have supported her journey.

"I want to do well on the track for myself, for my country, for my coach, and for those who have poured so much into me," Alfred declared.

In addition to her athletic pursuits, Alfred has embraced her role as Saint Lucia’s tourism ambassador. Leveraging her international platform, she is determined to shine a spotlight on her homeland.

"I’m here at the World Travel Market using what I have done to now become a tourism ambassador to promote my country," she explained.

Reflecting on the year, Alfred noted that her highest moment was coming back to her country after the Paris Olympics exploits where she clinched gold in the 100m. She was welcomed as a national hero, a celebration that captured the pride and admiration of an entire nation.

"After stepping off the plane, I was welcomed by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Tourism, the Minister of Sport, and so many others from the government. There were St Lucians outside the airport awaiting my arrival, people were dancing, people were singing, people were cheering. It was just a crazy experience that I will always be grateful for," she concluded.
