Posta Rangers' struggles continued after squandering their lead to drop points at Kwale Stadium

Kenya Police FC extended their good run in the FKF Premier League with a 2-1 win over Murang’s Seal in a match played at the Police Sacco Stadium.

Police took the lead barely three minutes into the game through Erick Zakayo who finished off a superb build up.

Seal responded with a series of attacks but had to wait until the 15th minute for a major chance when Michael Owen took a long range, that blocked by Police captain David Ochieng .

The defending champions exploited the spaces, especially through Zakayo, who sought to whip in crosses in search of Yves Koutiama.

Seal started growing into the game from the 30th minute and made good use of their spell in the 37th minute through the on-form Victor Haki, who leveled the scores.

Seal almost took the lead at the stroke of half time when Michael Otieno delivered an enticing cross that was met by Haki, but he could not direct his header on target.

In the second half, Seal returned as a better and improved side pushing for a goal but none was forthcoming by the hour mark.

The Law Enforcers would grab the win in the 84th minute when Abud Omar struck a beauty of a free kick outside the area.

The win took Police’s point tally to 51, just four shy of second-placed AFC Leopards while Seeal remained 11th with 38 points.

With the win, APS leapfrogged Posta Rangers to move to 14th on the log with 34 points, four points above Kariobangi Sharks in the relegation zone.

In the other match of the day, Bandari FC and Posta Rangers played out to a 1-1 draw in a match played at the Kwale Stadium.

An 85th minute strike by Andrew Juma rescued a point for the Dockers as Lewis Shivachi had given Posta the lead in the 12th minute.

The Mailmen are now deep in the relegation matrix at 14th with 33 points as Bandari remain 10th with 40 points.
