Another Camp Nou shocker! Relegation-zone Cadiz hit Barca on the break and deserve the win

Barcelona were looking like a spent team yet again and couldn't find a way past the immense Jeremias Ledesma

Just a few days after falling to the unexpected Europa League home defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt, Barcelona gave another hard-to-swallow pill to their fans - a 1-0 home defeat against Cadiz!

The Andalusians celebrated an unlikely, but a thoroughly deserved victory on Monday night to pile more misery on the impotent Blaugrana. Former Arsenal and West Ham forward Lucas Perez had a memorable night as the veteran Spaniard scored one of the most important goals of his career.

Relegation-threatened Cadiz were understandably forced to defend in numbers for the vast majority of the match at Camp Nou, but this wasn't your standard "park the bus and hope for the best" kind of performance. The Andalucian club had a game plan to punish every Barca mistake - of which there were many.

Lucas Perez had already missed a glorious chance from a perfectly-executed Cadiz counter-attack in the first half amid wave after wave of the hosts' attacks. But when he found himself with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen's net at his mercy. This time, he tucked the ball in to give the yellows the unlikely lead and make Barca stars sweat again.

Ousmane Dembele was his side's main attacking force, but the Frenchman never came close to testing the excellent Jeremias Ledesma, Argentinean goalkeeper on a season-long loan from Rosario Central.

Xavi's team lost their composure and shortly started to attack without a clear idea how to reach the opponents' net. That gave the visitors two glorious chances to put the game beyond doubt with 15 minutes remaining.

The closest Barca had come to an equaliser was a long-range attempt from defender Eric Garcia, once again kept out by the inspired Ledesma.

The Argentine stole the show late on when he produced a reflex save to deny substitute Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a volleyed goal with just a minute or regulation 90 remaining.

The visitors hang on to claim their best win of the season and send Xavi back to the drawing board.
