The club enjoyed a remarkable turnaround last season after a difficult start, emerging as one of the FKF Premier League's best-performing teams in the second half of the campaign under head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo.
That resurgence has convinced the club's hierarchy that the current squad only requires minor reinforcements ahead of the new season.
Having resumed pre-season training earlier this week, Akama said the club is targeting a maximum of four new signings, insisting there is no need for a major rebuild.
"Our approach in this transfer window is very clear. We are not looking at a major overhaul of the squad.
We have confidence in the group that helped us achieve our objectives last season, so we will only bring in a few quality additions, no more than four players."
The chairman added that retaining the team's key players remains one of the club's biggest priorities, believing continuity will be crucial as the technical bench looks to build on last season's progress.
"Continuity is very important for us. We want to retain the core of the team because stability gives the technical bench a strong foundation to build on ahead of the new season."
Beyond the transfer market, APS Bomet also intends to strengthen the squad from within. The club recently recruited several players into the Administration Police Service, with the players undergoing training at the AP Training College in Embakasi before being integrated into the football team.
"We are also fortunate to have a strong internal development pathway. Some of the players who recently joined the Administration Police Service and underwent training at the Embakasi AP Training College have the quality to step into the first team, and we intend to give them that opportunity."
Akama believes promoting talent from within the club's structures is a more sustainable strategy than making numerous signings every transfer window.
"Instead of spending heavily in the market, we want to maximise the talent within our system. Developing our own players is part of the club's long-term vision, and we believe they are capable of competing at the highest level."
He maintained that while the club will make additions where necessary, every incoming player must raise the overall quality and competitiveness of the squad.
"Every signing must improve the squad. We are not signing players for the sake of numbers. We want quality, competition for places, and players who fit the culture and ambitions of APS Bomet."
