Bomet downed Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 to secure their first win in the top flight, followed by a 4-1 demolition of Gor Mahia with the latest being their 2-1 win over Nairobi United on Wednesday 4 February. Their other win was at home to coastal side Bandari FC.

In fact, of their 18 points earned so far, 13 are courtesy of teams from Nairobi metropolitan, a matter Naibei opened up on after their win over Naibois match.

“Nairobi and specifically Nyayo Stadium has been good to us and therefore the venue motivated us for the match. The playing surface also suits how we want to play,” Naibei told Mozzart Sport.

Against Naibois, Naibei picked up a pass inside the box, found space and unleashed a perfect shot to the right side that went past Kevin Oduor and into the back of the net.

I have been training on that finish and when I got the chance, I had to take responsibility and score one for the team.”

Reflecting on the match in general, the versatile midfielder hailed the team spirit behind the coveted win.

“We came prepared for the match; with huge morale and keen on making amends after some bad run in recent matches. We all had a winning spirit and worked hard across the departments,” he added.

With the Mozzart Bet-powered side now out of the relegation zone, the goal is to steer off the relegation matrix.

“As players, this win has boosted our confidence and we are going to use it to build momentum going into other matches where we also intend to win,” he stated.
