The Law Enforcers have enjoyed a timely revival in recent weeks, collecting back-to-back victories that have breathed fresh life into their quest to retain top-flight status in their debut campaign.

Last week, Murkomen rewarded each member of the playing squad and technical bench with Ksh 50,000, totalling approximately Ksh1.85 million, following APS Bomet’s crucial 1-0 victory over KCB FC, a result that proved pivotal in the club’s fight for survival.

During his address to the team after the KCB encounter, the CS further pledged to extend the same bonus incentive for the remainder of the season should the team continue posting positive results.

The motivation package appeared to inspire yet another spirited performance on Sunday, 10 May, as Bomet stunned Mathare United 2-0 at Kasarani Annex to register a second consecutive victory and earn another round of rewards.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Omollo admitted that although the team’s resurgence had begun before Murkomen’s intervention, the financial motivation had injected fresh belief and energy into the squad at a decisive stage of the campaign.

“Before the patron came in, we had already started the revival push, but the token from the CS has honestly been a game-changer. It has massively propelled the team towards the recent wins,” said Omollo.

“It is a thoughtful gesture at this particular juncture, and it is going to come in handy in the final three matches of the campaign.”

Despite the resurgence, the experienced tactician insists the Bomet-based side are still far from safety.

The former Tusker FC title-winning coach, who guided the Brewers to the FKF Premier League crown in 2011, warned that complacency could still derail the club’s survival ambitions.

APS Bomet’s successive wins lifted them to 12th place on the standings with 37 points, opening a five-point cushion above the relegation zone.

However, Omollo believes the battle remains too tight for the team to relax.

According to the seasoned coach, two more victories could potentially secure safety, but the club’s target remains to win all their remaining matches and avoid heading into the final day with uncertainty hanging over their fate.

“We are not yet out of the woods because the survival race is still very compact. Despite the recent wins, we have to keep going match by match and collect as many points as possible because it is not done yet, as anything can happen,” he stated.

“The remaining three matches stretch across three weekends, which makes it even more anxious. We have to treat every game like a final, but I believe two more wins should get us over the line.”

APS Bomet now face a demanding end to the season as they continue their fight to preserve their top-flight status.

The side will next travel to face Bandari FC before hosting title-chasing AFC Leopards in the penultimate round of the campaign.

They will then conclude the campaign away to 12-time league champions Tusker FC on Sunday, 31 May.
